My STORY
Ever since I can remember, I loved understanding others. The unravelings of individual stories and learning about their successes, failures, and fears gave me a greater passion for helping people understand their sense of self. In undergrad, I started searching for my career path and resonated deeply with person-oriented careers. I majored in Human Services and Pre-Counseling and learned how impactful curiosity and compassion are in creating your desired life. Through my journey of wearing many different “helping” hats as a refugee case manager, a preschool teacher, and currently an eating disorder group therapist, I found consistent themes throughout my work: people desired to be heard, seen, and known. As I continued pursuing education and training, I utilized these themes to find my calling as a therapist and help people see their worthwhile selves in session to build their bold and authentic lives.
MY philosophy
I follow a person-centered approach to therapy, which means that you and I are a team working to build the life you want to live. I partner with you to engage your personal story, learning about your individuality, sense of self, and the cyclical patterns that keep you exhausted and isolated. I work towards helping you understand and be the person you want to be. I desire you to know your capabilities and to become your best advocate, support, and friend. Our work will begin with building a therapeutic alliance fostering growth, authenticity, creativity, and trust so that you can activate these values within your personal life.
Therapy allows us to see our walls and defenses. Sometimes, those defenses become barriers that isolate us from others and from knowing ourselves. Honest and compassionate therapy helps to release those defenses and understand their origins. Once we know where and why, we build practical skills and insight to enable restoration and resiliency within our personal lives; many of us might already know the reasons for our unwanted behaviors and beliefs. But our job now is to help you break free from the cycle and create lasting change. You deserve a space to explore and process who you are and who you want to become. And I am excited to be apart of that journey!

STYLE/PERSONALITY
When we are together in session, you will see I work towards building an environment that is yours—one that feels safe, comfortable, and steady. I desire creativity and find ways to utilize this within my sessions. I strive for a free, bold, and authentic space that allows you to engage in it how you need and want to. I have and will always value being who you are and owning it; I want you to express yourself to the best of your ability and live a life that feels unapologetically you.
When I am not working, you usually find me talking with friends or family with a large cup of coffee in hand, painting something new, endlessly redecorating my apartment with my latest thrift finds, cooking a new recipe, or reading my favorite chair at home.
